Our Approach
Trailer Aid Ltd treats health and safety as a core part of the service, not an afterthought. Every engineer is a fully qualified commercial engineer with years of hands-on experience in HGV/LGV breakdowns and on-site repairs – experience that includes knowing when a roadside repair is safe and legal, and when a vehicle must be recovered instead.
What This Means in Practice
- Risk assessment before work starts – every roadside and on-site job begins with a dynamic risk assessment of the location, traffic, load and weather
- High-visibility chapter 8 livery – our service vehicles carry full chevron markings and lighting so we can be seen, day and night
- Correct equipment – jacks, stands, wheel chocks and lifting equipment rated for commercial vehicles, inspected and maintained
- Safe systems of work – air systems depressurised before component removal, wheels chocked, cabs and trailers properly supported
- Training & competence – ongoing manufacturer training keeps our team's technical and safety knowledge current
- Insurance – full public liability and garage/service indemnity cover for work at your premises or the roadside
Working on Your Site
When we attend your depot or yard we follow your site rules and induction requirements, sign in, and agree a safe working area before tools come out. If you have specific contractor requirements – permits to work, PPE standards, RAMS submissions – send them with your booking and we'll comply.

As an operator, your O-licence undertakings include keeping vehicles safe and roadworthy. Our fleet maintenance and safety inspection services provide the documented inspection trail that demonstrates you take that duty seriously – protecting your OCRS score and your reputation.
